i have to turn off my content filter in order to activate any nitro pro license. otherwise i get a connection error.

i already whitelisted nitropdf.com and gonitro.com but that does not help, i still have to turn off the content filter, is there a specific URL for activations that i can whitelist?

Hello @Mike Mazzariello,

Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums!

In order to further assist you, what build of Nitro Pro are you working with? You can find this out by clicking on 'About Nitro Pro' under the Help tab (format is 13.XX.X.XXX, e.g. 13.58.0.1180) or you can go to Control Panel > Programs and Features.

Lastly, could you please provide the serial number of your Nitro Pro you are trying to activate?

Thank you very much in advance and I am looking forward to hearing back from you.

version 13.9.1.155

when i go to activate it says connection error, unless i turn content filtering off on my firewall and then the activation wizard comes up. there must be a specific URL the activation assistant uses that i can unblock?

Hello @Mike Mazzariello,

It is possible that you are still using an older build which is why you are having issues.

If you can provide the serial number of your program, I should be able to provide the correct installers for Nitro PDF Pro 13.58.0.1180

Thank you very much in advance and I am looking forward to hearing back from you.

unfortunately i think you are on the wrong track. this has been occuring for years, since nitro version 9 and probably earlier than that.

the fix is i have to turn off the content filter on my firewall, for the entire network, for a moment, while i activate nitro, as soon as it activates, i turn the content filter back on on teh firewall and no one is the wiser. but, i shouldn't have to do that, that is a security risk. it's been happening for years.

i won't be typing my serial number for my app on a public forum here.

whitelisting gonitro.com and nitropdf.com is not enough, there must be a specific URL to whitelist for activations or else turning off my content filter would not resolve the issue. so i have resolved it for this instance ,but dozens of activations and installs over the years have been the same result., since 2015 or so when we started using nitro in place of adobe acrobat. most computers i build i know install and activate nitro before joining my computer to our network domain and thus putting it behind the firewall, that has been the resolve for 7 years, i was looking for a better resolve than this, by requesting the URL for teh nitro activation assistant. if you could please provide this? otherwise, nevermind and thanks for trying.

Hello @Mike Mazzariello,

Thank you for this detailed information and to further troubleshoot this activation issue, have you tried whitelisting the IP Address and its ports in the below article?:

Thank you very much in advance and I am looking forward to hearing back from you.
