PDF with fields - can save in acrobat reader; nitro pro says protected document and wants a password

hi - that about sums it up.  i have a fillable pdf that i can fill out and save in acrobat reader.  if i fill out in nitro pdf, or even leaving it blank, it says there's a password and i can't save.

is this a bug?

i'm using what i think is the latest nitro (bought my licenses May, 2022).

still can't believe i don't have support without using a community forum, but i guess that's the price of not paying for acrobat.  I was otherwise pretty happy with Nitro Pro.

With regard to the PDF file  asking for a password, how was the file created what software was used?
