Nitro PDF Pro will not open window: Tried restarting computer, re-installing nitro pro, clearing .\Nitro in %appdata% --> Still will not completely open

I have been unable to get Nitro PDF Pro's window to open from the taskbar despite it showing that the program is running.  The program just went into this state suddenly.
It shows open on the taskbar and reads as "Nitro Pro (Expired Trial)".  I have a license.

As mentioned in title I have tried to fix the problem by restarting computer (several times), re-installing nitro pro (several times), and clearing .\Nitro in %appdata%.  These have not fixed the problem.

Version of Nitro I have been trying to open: 13.70.2.40

My System Info:
OS Name    Microsoft Windows 11 Pro
Version    10.0.22621 Build 22621
Processor    AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core Processor, 3701 Mhz, 12 Core(s), 24 Logical Processor(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM)    32.0 GB

Hello @T C

Is Nitro in the taskbar but it is not opening on the viewable screen? Can you kindly provide us with a screenhsot?

Please try to hold down the “Shift” key while right-clicking the program in the taskbar, then select “Move“. Use the arrow keys to move the window into view. Then try activating with your serial number again. Please let me know how that goes.

Hi Leslie,

I’m experiencing the exact same problem, the suggested “shift” method unfortunately didn’t solve my problem.
Initially I thought it was related to running 3 screens, which could also be an issue.

Meanwhile I have followed all instructions I found in this forum: uninstalling, clearing all folders and reinstalling.

During re-installation I experience no problems, only the program doesn’t open up in a window.
I only see the icon on the task bar. The window is not minimized. The program is listed on Windows Task Manager.

I hope you can guide me in the right direction to get I to work.

Hi @Mark Kristensen

Are you using Nitro on Windows 8 or 10 machine?

If the "shift" method does not do the trick, you can try cascading the windows. To do so in Windows 10, right-click the taskbar and select “Cascade windows” from the menu that pops up. This method arranges all your open window in a cascade mode, allowing you to see all their title bars at once, hopefully one of them is Nitro.

Please let me know how that goes.

Thanks for your prompt feedback.
Operating system is WIN10
Cascading doesn't do work. The only way to identify the program is active is the display of the icon on the taskbar and as mentioned it shows to be running when opening the "Task Manager".
I'm not the only individual who have tried trouble shooting, we have a team of guys who are normally good at fixing any IT issues.
In the offices we have, I guess 8 Nitro users, only one installation is not working (any longer). It did work on the same computer in the past, this is the annoying part, since uninstall and reinstall doesn't solve the issue.

Hello @Mark Kristensen

Sorry to hear you are still getting this issue. In case the problem is something to do with the installation, can you please try the following for me:

1. Download our latest Clean Up utility: https://www.gonitro.com/support/tools/cleanup-utility-list
2. Extract the utility to the desktop (it doesn't properly run from within the zip)
3. Run the utility (NOTE: This will remove any custom signatures / stamps. Let me know if these need to be backed up)
4. Reboot
5. Download and install 13.70 from here: https://www.gonitro.com/installers/business/v13/msi/download

I would also like you to download the latest redistributable packages for Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022.
You can download the installer package here:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-GB/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170

And run a .NET framework repair:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=30135

Please let me know how that goes.
