I love how Nitro causes sooooo many problems since they have essentially no support

I've been trying to get this question answered for at least a month now and still no answer. 

I had Nitro 10. I got on the forum and asked if there was an update. A few WEEKS later some guy (I guess the ....ONE... employee there at Nitro) said there was no update but that I could upgrade to Nitro 12 at no cost, just use the same serial number. I was stupid enough to believe him. I downloaded it but it wouldn't take my serial number. I contacted him back and he said something about the product wasn't purchased directly through Nitro. I asked if he was saying the serial number and disc I had was counterfeit and that's the last I ever heard from him. 

So, if by some small chance you're out there, what the hell is the answer to this question that I've been waiting on an answer for?
