Dave Bartos Posted June 1, 2023 Report Posted June 1, 2023 Probably the only area that adobe is better is that they actually have a ruler and guide lines you can move on the page. Baffling that NitroPDF does not have those.
0 Official Nitronaut Reymund Oyong Posted June 3, 2023 Official Nitronaut Report Posted June 3, 2023 Greetings @Dave Bartos Thank you for reaching out through our Community Forums! Nitro PDF Pro has the Units and Grid option. When the Show Grid option is enabled, grids will appear on the user interface. Here's a sample screenshot: Regarding the ruler, Nitro has the Measure tool that is located under the Review tab, please see the screenshot below. Kind regards,
0 Dave Bartos Posted June 19, 2023 Author Report Posted June 19, 2023 Hello, Yes I understand that I can add a grid but that really doesn't help. I have no easy way to get a center line on my document like in the screenshot I linked. The center of the document is marked on the ruler, see how it does not line up to the grid? Now if the grid were to actually size itself to the page and be centered instead of being cut off, that would be useful. https://freeimage.host/i/HP9pJKx The measure feature also does not help in this situation. I'm not trying to measure the distance between something, I just need a quick easy reference to the physical dimensions of the page so I can find the center and mark it.
0 Dave Bartos Posted July 18, 2023 Author Report Posted July 18, 2023 (edited) After playing around with some settings I got the grid MOSTLY to where I need it. It's 99% there, the middle line is only off by a pixel or two but it is close enough to use as a center finder. I'm posting this so it may help someone in the future with the shortcomings of Nitro PDF, who needs a quick way to see the middle of a page. It will hold position if you zoom in or out as well. Notice how now the (center) red line on the ruler is ALMOST right on top of the line on the grid. https://freeimage.host/i/HLOnnuj Here are the settings: https://freeimage.host/i/HLOncAJ Now if only I could figure out how to toggle the grid to show with a button click instead of navigating into preferences EACH time and toggling it, which is quite cumbersome.
