Sharguin Music
I've been having the same issue for about 3 weeks now, just figured out it was Nitro Pro causing it after I had to reset my PC and slowly install apps until it started again. I was running Nitro Pro 13 v13.70.4.50, my license number is 504***************. Please let me know what the fix is and how to apply it ( I already tried the "Disable the Thumbnail provider by running regsvr32 /u NitroPDFThumbnailProvider.dll and pressing enter", it did not work). My system: Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9400F CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable) Edition Windows 11 Home Version 22H2 Installed on 7/17/2023 OS build 22621.1992 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22644.1000.0 Please advise soonest. Thanks, Rob Edited July 23 by Reymund Oyong Hide Serial number
Official Nitronaut Reymund Oyong Posted July 23 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted July 23 (edited) Greetings @Sharguin Music Thank you for reaching out through our Community Forums! Could you please describe the exact steps you've taken when disabling the Thumbnail provider? Did you execute the Windows Command Prompt in Administrator mode? If so, are you still able to do a PDF preview in Windows File Explorer after unregistering the DLL? Sharguin Music
Hi Reymund, I did the following: Opened a cmd prompt, ("Run as Administrator"), Went to c:\Program Files\Nitro\Pro\13 Then pasted the following; "regsvr32 /u NitroPDFThumbnailProvider.dll", received a "succeeded" message Waited to see if explorer would crash again --it did. Went to a pdf file on my desktop, right clicked Selected General Tab Selected "Change" in "Opens with" Selected Edge, and set it as default Waited to see if explorer would crash again --it did. Rebooted Waited to see if explorer would crash again --it did. Uninstalled NitroPro 13 Waited to see if explorer would crash again --it did not Edited July 24 by Sharguin Music Left a step off

Russel Gerrity
I’ve been having this same problem for a long time, thinking it was related to my laptop hardware, as not only was explorer crashing but the whole laptop. I’ve tried clean reset of laptop, installed apps one by one and twice now confirmed it is Nitro causing the problem. No Nitro and the laptop is fully stable. Just tried a third time and same problem. I’ve tried disabling the thumbnail provider as suggested here and in another post and still the problem persists. This looks to have been reported in Feb 22, and yet still the problem persists. Can somebody at Nitro provide a solution to this serious flaw? I’m at the point of switching to Adobe for good. Scott Previty
I am experiencing this same problem. We could get explorer.exe to stabilize for a while after running command "Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" but shortly after, MSIinstaller would install updates and the problem returns, crashes approximately every 60 seconds. We reinstalled Win10 OS files and a fresh, licensed copy (504***********359 hide this!) of Nitro PDF13 (after having already installed Adobe Acrobat Reader 64-bit). We'll shortly be uninstalling Nitro as a test but it's critical to the user's work.
