Is there a way to set "select text" as the default for the select tool?

Is there a way to change the default setting for the select tool from hand to "select text"? It would be helpful to be able to select text from a document without first having to go to the select tool and change the setting.

Greetings @Stephen Shepard

Thank you for reaching out through our Community Forums!

The 'Hand' tool is the default mode of Nitro PDF Pro, and when the option 'Hand tool can select images and text' is enabled, this should allow you to select text and images.
The 'Hand tool can select images and text' option can be found here:

1. In Nitro PDF Pro, go to File > Preferences.
2. Access the General section
3. Under Basic tools, ensure that the 'Hand tool can select images and text' is enabled.

As a helpful tip, when using the 'Hand' tool, please leave the cursor/hand over the text or image you would like to select momentarily.
Nitro PDF Pro will take a brief moment to recognize that you are trying to select a text or an image and switch the Hand tool to a 'Select' style cursor.

Another option is to create a keyboard shortcut to invoke the 'Select' tool. This might be faster than clicking over with a mouse.
You can find instructions on how to do so here:

The 'Select' tool would be under the 'Home' tab, as seen in the below screenshot when creating the keyboard shortcut.
