Error reading pdfs from Google books.

I am a scholar and I have used Nitro for a long time. One major problem with Nitro is that it seems to have trouble with books downloaded from Google books, which, as a historian, I use frequently. Unlike Acrobat, it inserts spaces between each character in the OCR text, making it impossible to search the text. Example:

This greatly reduces the utility of Nitro for my work. Is there a way to remedy this?
