Not working with TextExpander

I have a program, TextExpander, which allows me to make shortcuts for common phrases, etc.  (Example, typing invv will expand to invoice). I contacted support previously and was told it's a TextExpander issue.  However, it is not because the only place I have this issue is when I scan and try to name a document.  If I scan the document and save it to downloads or elsewhere, I can then rename it and shortcuts will expand.

This never happened when it was PDFPen, and does not happen in the Nitro program on my other computer. Does anyone have any idea as to a setting somewhere that I may need to change?

FYI, my shortcuts expand when used while typing this email.
