Robert Gottesman
I'm using Nitro PDF Pro (14.19.1.29) x64. For some reason, when I open a pdf file w/Nitro, I get garbage characters on screen. This just started today and I have been successfully using Nitro for 6 months, w/no hiccups. The pdf files are ok as I can open/view via chrome or firefox. Any suggestions? Robert Gottesman
Did some more testing ... (1) tried windows restart .. no help (2) tried windows "installed apps" nitro manual repair .. no help Other notes * Bookmarks are legible * If I copy (garbage) text from nitro screen and paste into editor .. the paste shows correct text. I assume the problem is with fonts. Document properties always shows some strange fonts .. but I don't know how to change global fonts
Official Nitronaut Reymund Oyong Posted March 15 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted March 15 Greetings @Robert Gottesman Thank you for reaching out through our Community Forums! Please try downgrading your installation from the 14.19 to the 14.18 build. This can be done by uninstall 14.19 first, then installing 14.18 using the installer from this link: Kind regards,
Robert Gottesman
@Reymund Oyong It works!!! I uninstalled 14.19 and reinstalled 14.18 per your link. I'm guessing the problem has to do with certain fonts embedded in the PDF. Please let me know when a new update is released. Thank you.

Allen Blackhurst
Hello, I'm now receiving this same scenario, non-legible information, only showing random characters. I'm using version 14.22.1.0. I do not see an option to downgrade expect to Version 13. Thank you
