Scott Fenton
If we go to: https://nitro-assistant.gonitro.com/ask?productContext=nitro-pro-windows And ask: how do I specify a folder for "Save As"? We get the following: To specify a folder for "Save As" in Nitro PDF Pro for Windows, follow these steps: 1. Open the document you want to save in Nitro PDF Pro. 2. Click on the "File" menu at the top left corner. 3. Select "Save As" from the dropdown menu. 4. A dialog box will open where you can navigate to the desired folder where you want to save the file. 5. After selecting the folder, name your file and click "Save". Remember, the next time you save a file, Nitro PDF Pro for Windows will automatically suggest the last folder you used. Nice, except this is not what happens; Nitro Pro's PDF Creator simply defaults to "Documents" each and every time. Next, if we try to change a folder and ask the very-Beta assistant: How do I change the default folders? We get the following: To change the default folders in Nitro PDF Pro for Windows, you can follow these steps: 1. Open Nitro PDF Pro. 2. Click on the 'File' menu at the top left corner. 3. Choose 'Preferences' from the dropdown menu. 4. In the Preferences window, select 'Folders'. 5. Here, you can change the default folders for various actions such as 'Save As', 'Open', 'Export', etc. Remember to click 'OK' to save your changes. Again, in theory, nice, except this doesn't exist in the "Preferences" window (no way to insert this image because it doesn't have an assigned URL). Having owned Nitro Pro for my Windows 7 laptop from 12 years ago, this product seems to be a decade behind not ahead. Using "C:\Program Files\Nitro\PDF Pro\14\NitroPDF.exe" with Vaio laptop, Windows 11, o/s fully updated.
