Printing to PDF or "save as a PDF" the file extension will be 24 instead of pdf.  Windows 11 pro, Nitro v14. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Hi @Shea Williams

Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums

I understand that the file extension is different when you print to PDF or use the option to save as PDF.

I would love to know more about the issue. I have several questions for you:

- What build of Nitro Pro are you working with? You can find this out by clicking on 'About Nitro Pro' under the Help tab
- Is the issue file-specific, or is it happening in all files?
- Can you please provide the exact workflow on how you convert files into PDF?

Thank you.

Nitro 14.3.1.193

Windows 11 pro, SentinelOne, Cisco AnyConnect Client, <~200MB Fiber Internet at both ends, Fully patched OS.

Sorry for the late reply this issue is very intermittent we thought it corrected itself. When opening a fillable PDF form and using save as PDF renaming the form it sometimes will save as a (dot)24 file. Another user with Adobe version 11 pro can open and re-save these files as a PDF. I originally thought it was because the user is remote several states away from the office but it also happened when testing locally.

Workflow. – Original fillable PDF on the desktop opened and saved as PDF.

Workflow – Original fillable PDF opened over VPN and saved as a PDF back over the VPN to a server share.

PDF appears to be a New York rb89.pdf I have asked the user to try another fillable PDF form when they see the issue happening.

Thank you.

Hi @Shea Williams

Thank you for the update.

I recommend updating Nitro PDF Pro 14 to the latest online build.

Installing the latest build fixes issues related to file corruption, the inability to open files after saving, and other issues related to document conversion.

Thank you.
