steven
I have Nitro Pro 11.0.3.173 and frequently convert Word and Excel documents to pdf. Only one in every 5 documents that I convert to pdf with my Nitro Pro allow for highlighting, underlining and cross out. (The highlights cursor appears and I highlight text or underline but no changes are made to the document). I can't figure out what is being done differently that so many of my documents don't allow these feature. Any idea what is happening? Official Nitronaut Leslie V Posted September 26, 2017 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted September 26, 2017 Hello Steven, Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums! Some PDF files, like scanned files, are image-based files and these are not editable. You can only markup text when the text on the file is editable. An image of the text cannot be highlighted or marked up. You can either use the OCR tool to convert it to editable text or you can use the shapes tool as a workaround. I have provided both resources for you below: 1. OCR (Optical Character Recognition) 2. Using the Shapes tool to highlight on images I hope this helps!
