Nitro 10 Freezing

Even when trying to open the software on its own. Using the latest version of 10 (10.5.9.9).

The computer in question is running Windows 7 64bit. I have tried repairing it with no success, any support would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Created an account just to reply to this issue. I have had this hanging issue since installing 10.

This is a HUGE UNRESOLVED issue Nitro can't fix. You will go crazy if you are actually trying to be productive.

Submitted help requests, got no help that worked.

Created video of hanging and freezing, sent link to Nitro, nothing.

I have upgraded to a new laptop, same issues, right out of the box.

I will not be upgrading to 11 for this reason, if you haven't purchased yet, please read and consider the posts about this issue - it will drive you mad!

Thanks for the reply @Matt K we bought the software a few years ago and it was working flawlessly until about a month ago.

Luckily we had an older version of the software that I was using on my computer, so I have given the end user the old version and I'm using the new version. It's working fine at the moment - so I'll probably just find an alternate piece of software when it breaks. I would only use it for combining PDF documents together - I'm certain that there will be a free piece of software that does this.

Hello @smatthews,

Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums!

Before continuing, I should let you know that we no longer support Nitro Pro 10 or older. It has been discontinued as documented in our Sunset Policy: https://www.gonitro.com/support/sunset-policy

As a courtesy, kindly update to 10.5.9.14 by referring to these steps:

1. Clear the content of the directory under C:\users\your_username\Appdata\local\temp. For whatever reason, not all temp files automatically remove themselves and is NOT usually caused by Nitro Pro files.

2. Download and run our Clean Up utility to uninstall your Nitro Pro: http://install.nitropdf.com/support/downloads/cleanup.zip

NOTE: This clean-up tool will erase any existing signature files within Nitro so please save them to another location before using the clean-up tool in order to keep them. Please see this link for backing up custom stamps/signatures: http://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/stamps/000001686

3. Extract the utility to the desktop (it doesn't always run from the zip)
4. Run the utility then reboot your machine.
5. Please clear all your downloads folder or delete all downloaded Nitro installers. This step is important because we noticed that if you are saving all the installers and you download them in the same folder (like the downloads folder), the EXE can pick up any MSI installed in that folder and you may pick-up one of the older builds instead of the newly downloaded package.

6. Download and install Nitro Pro 10.5.9.14 using below offline installers:

x64 http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_105914/en/burn/nitro_pro10_ba_x64.msi
x32 http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_105914/en/burn/nitro_pro10_ba_x86.msi

If you are not sure which to pick, this will help: http://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/64/000001874

7. After installation, you can activate by opening Nitro Pro, clicking on the Help tab > About Nitro Pro > Activation and entering your serial number.

Alternatively, if you were interested in upgrading your license to Nitro Pro 12 with VIP Access (formerly Software Assurance), we could scrap all the old installations and start on a fresh serial number.

Thanks for choosing Nitro Pro and I hope this helps!

Hello @Matt K,

I trust you're doing great today.

On behalf of Nitro, my apologies for this inconvenience this has caused.

As discussed on my our private messages, updating to Nitro Pro 10.5.9.14 and running it with Compatibility-Mode seems to help but still slow in-terms of scrolling any PDF documents. You have also observed that it appears to be related to CAD-generated PDFs and even if one is open in a tab, working on another tab is painfully slow. When closing the CAD PDF, things will improved but not fixed.

If you are still willing to trial our Nitro Pro 12 for 14-days to see if things will improve, that would be great!

Again, I apologize for this inconvenience since we no longer support Nitro Pro 10 or older because it has been discontinued as documented in our Sunset Policy: https://www.gonitro.com/support/sunset-policy

Thank you very much and have a nice day!
