Pasi Nurminen
Just installed v 11.0.8.470 (upgrade from 11.0.7.425) as I read that it fixed the auto rotate issue I've been dealing with. It did when I print from Nitro to a physical printer. However, if I print from another application (like a web browser) to NitroPro, a Nitro PDF Creator bix pops up, with nothing showing in the File Name/Destination/status columns. All I can do is click the close button, and no PDF file is created. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with reboots in between, I have uninstalled and used registry cleaners, and reinstalled, but the same thing keeps happening. I am on Windows 7. I did the same exact upgrade to two other office PC's, one Win 7 and one Win 10, and they are printing to PDF normally.
Official Nitronaut Allain Umailin Posted April 25, 2019 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted April 25, 2019 Hello @Pasi Nurminen, Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums! To further troubleshoot, kind go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers. Right-click Nitro PDF Creator 12 > Printing Preference and select 'Auto generate filename' under Target Filename. Did it help? If above setting did not help and in order for me to further assist you with your concern, could you please provide the following?: -Are you printing from Chrome to PDF Creator? Do you have the same issue with Internet Explorer and FireFox? -Are you able to Print to PDF Creator using NotePad and MS Office applications? Thank you very much in advance and I am looking forward to hearing back from you.
Pasi Nurminen
No, that did not help. (although the printer is Nitro PDF Creator (Pro 11) since it is v11.0.8.470) Printing from Firefox does not work (issue is as described above). Internet Explorer did not work either, nor did Chrome (same result) Notepad and Excel - same result
Official Nitronaut Allain Umailin Posted April 26, 2019 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted April 26, 2019 Hello @Pasi Nurminen, Thanks for your response and my apologies for this inconvenience. Let us try some troubleshooting by referring to these steps: 1. Clear the content of the directory under C:\users\your_username\Appdata\local\temp. For whatever reason, not all temp files automatically remove themselves and is NOT usually caused by Nitro Pro files. 2. Download and run our Clean Up utility to uninstall your Nitro Pro: http://install.nitropdf.com/support/downloads/cleanup.zip NOTE: This clean-up tool will erase any existing signature files within Nitro so please save them to another location before using the clean-up tool in order to keep them. Please see this link for backing up custom stamps/signatures: http://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/stamps/000001686 3. Reboot your machine. 4. Please clear all your downloads folder or delete all downloaded Nitro installers. This step is important because we noticed that if you are saving all the installers and you download them in the same folder (like the downloads folder), the EXE can pick up any MSI installed in that folder and you may pick-up one of the older builds instead of the newly downloaded package. 5. Download and install Nitro Pro 11.0.8.470 using below offline installers: x64-bit: http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_1108470/en/burn/nitro_pro11_ba_x64.msi x32-bit: http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_1108470/en/burn/nitro_pro11_ba_x86.msi If you are not sure which to pick, this will help: http://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/64/000001874 6. After installation, you can activate by opening Nitro Pro, clicking on the Help tab > About Nitro Pro > Activation and entering your serial number. Thanks for choosing Nitro and I hope this helps! Pasi Nurminen
I'm leaving office shortly on a business trip, so will not be able to try these steps until Monday. Will post an update then.
Pasi Nurminen
OK tried the above routine twice. Same problem. If I open the printer queue, I can see the print job appear there. If I print this thread it is 5 pages. The print queue shows pages 5/5. Then a Nitro Pro PDF Creator box pops up but nothing shows up in the box under the File Name, Destination, Status colums. The job then remains in the print queue at 5/5 pages with a status of Sent to Printer. I then have to cancel it to clear it out of there.
Official Nitronaut Allain Umailin Posted May 3, 2019 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted May 3, 2019 Hello @Pasi Nurminen, Thanks for your patience and response. If Nitro PDF Creator 11 is not printing to PDF, could you please try installing our stand-alone Nitro PDF Creator 10? Here are the direct links: 32-bit: http://install.nitropdf.com/pro10/en/enterprise/Nitro_Creator_x86.msi 64-bit: http://install.nitropdf.com/pro10/en/enterprise/Nitro_Creator_x64.msi Kindly note you can have both virtual printers installed on your machine and rest assured there will be no conflicts. Thanks for choosing Nitro and I hope this helps!
Karma Singh
After upgrading my computer to SSD I, of course, had to reinstall all of my programmes, including Nitro 9 Pro. Now, Nitro no longer appears in the printer list in MS Word and all attemtps to create .pdf files with Nitro bring the same error message "The creation process encountered an error, and failed to create the PDF file." I have tried overwriting the installation, deinstalling and reinstalling but nothing brings any change. Plese advise. Blessed be Karma
