10 Crashing

Recommended Posts

I downloaded and installed NitroPro 10 using my license from an old machine to a new Windows 10 computer. It worked normally for a month or two, then began claiming to have an installation problem each launch. Now it is crashing too frequently to use, and the signature fails to stick. Any suggestions? Does Nitro degrade old versions to force upgrades? I'm ready to quit and find stability elsewhere.

Hello @TerryH,

Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums and my apologies for this inconvenience.

Before continuing, I should let you know that we no longer support Nitro Pro 10 or older. It has been discontinued as documented in our Sunset Policy: https://www.gonitro.com/support/sunset-policy

As a courtesy, kindly uninstall your Nitro Pro 10, reboot your machine and install Nitro Pro 10 from this page: kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/sunset/000001632

If you are not sure which to pick, this will help: http://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/64/000001874

After installation, you can activate by opening Nitro Pro, clicking on the Help tab > About Nitro Pro > Activation and entering your serial number.

Alternatively, kindly access our Upgrade Portal https://www.gonitro.com/pro/upgrade and enter your v10 serial number.

I hope this helps. I am looking forward to hearing back from you

Hi Allain,

Many thanks for your prompt and effective reply. I do understand about the sunset policy and appreciate the courtesy access to the download page. When I first went to download page, the site was undergoing maintenance, but last night it was working again. Tested 10 this morning, and it is working smoothly again.

I am happy to be able to continue using Nitro Pro 10.

Cheers,

TerryH

Hi @AllainU,

I know support for 10 has been discontinued, but I just had a user tell me this about his software: "When I open Nitro Pro 10 by itself it automatically goes into trying to open a large file it couldn't open weeks ago and becomes unresponsive. It does the same every time I open the program."

My first instinct was to uninstall the software, but I know that usually you need to deactivate a license before uninstalling the software so you can reactivate it but this looks like it will be difficult to do in this scenario.  How should this be approached.

Thanks,

John
