Can't get out of 'Trial Mode.'

Argh!  Trying to activate on a new computer after old one cratered.  Can't get out of 'Trial Mode.'  Deactivated old, then get an error that status is still active, I have '0' activations, and I am allowed '2' activations.  Help!
