Nitro Pro Re Activiation on New Computer

Kevincz

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a new computer.  I had 2 re activation.  I loaded the software on the the new computer and attempted to re activate on the machine after I de actived on the old machine.  It still works on the old machine, and now indicates I have no re activation codes left.

I must say I love your product, but feel left out in the cold with the method of the help your firm offers.  Life could be so much more simpler with just a help email area..  If your firm has that for the love of me I cannot find it.

Hi @Kevincz,

Thanks for posting on our Community Forums!

Your license number is now ready for reactivation.

You can download the latest version of Nitro Pro 11 here (build 11.0.8.470) https://www.gonitro.com/nps/product-details/downloads

Once installed, activate your copy using your license number: https://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase/#/search/activate/000004468

I hope this helps!

Well,

Thank you for the reply.  So I went to the link you provided, initiated download only for my new machine to tell me a previous version is on my machine.  I went to uninstall it had some issue, but I believe I totally uninstalled all Nitro sofeware from my downloads and program file areas.

Shut off machine, rebooted and went to you link again.  Initiated install started install and then received message Nitor Pro Setup Wizard Has failed.

I am stuck, and do not know what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot get to the part to activate.

I have screen shot pictures of all of these issues

This process is to complicated.  For what I make an hour in my wage, I would now be money ahead to just re purchase the product.  I have been a Nitro user for over 4 years and love the product, but this sucksssssssssss

Hello @Kevincz,

Thank you for your response and our apologies for the delay.

When you attempted to activate, did you receive an error message?

If yes, could you please provide a screenshot of the error message so I can check it on our end?

Thank you very much in advance and I am looking forward to hearing back from you.

Hello @Kevincz,

Thank you for patience and my apologies if you are unable to upload the screenshot of the error message.

To further assist you, are you installing on a Windows 10 machine? If yes, kindly note we have identified that the cause of this issue is permission/ownership access to WindowsApps folder. Even if your Windows account is a member of Administrator group or you are logged in using administrator account, the installation will fail as the account does not have permission/ownership to access WindowsApps folder. To confirm this, here are the steps:

1. Enable the 'Hidden items' in Windows Explorer as the WindowsApps is hidden by default.
2. Go to C:\ProgramFiles\ then double click WindowsApps folder. A window will pop-up telling you that 'You don't currently have permission to access this folder'

As a workaround, kindly follow these steps:

1. Carefully follow the steps up to step 7 on this KB article: https://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/failed/000003595

Please take note of the following:
• You are required to run CMD in administrator mode.
• If Windows says '-' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file, remove the '-' when executing the commands.

The above article will allow your user account to take ownership and gain permission to access the WindowsApps folder.

2. Go back to C:\ProgramFiles\ then double click WindowsApps folder.
3. Click 'Continue' to permanently get access to this folder.
4. At this point, since your user account already have permission and ownership to the folder, clicking Continue will give you access to WindowsApps folder.
5. Close WindowsApps folder then open it again, you should no longer get the message 'You don’t currently have permission to access this folder' pop-up message.

After the above steps, please clear all your downloads folder or delete all downloaded Nitro installers. This step is important because we noticed that if you are saving all the installers and you download them in the same folder (like the downloads folder), the EXE can pick up any MSI installer in that folder and you may pick-up one of the older builds instead of the newly downloaded package.

Then install Nitro Pro 11 using below offline installers:
x64-bit: http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_1108470/en/burn/nitro_pro11_ba_x64.msi
x32-bit: http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_1108470/en/burn/nitro_pro11_ba_x86.msi

If you are not sure which to pick, this will help: https://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/64/000003790

After installation, you can activate by opening Nitro Pro, clicking on the Help tab > About Nitro Pro > Activate and entering your serial number.

Thanks for choosing Nitro and I hope this helps!

Allain,

Well I appreciate your response, but here is how far I got.

On the new machine running windows 10 went to the CMD prompt as admistrator, at the prompt I get this message

C:\Windows\system32>C:

There a I entered this

C:\Windows\system32>C:takeown/F"%ProgramFiles%\WindowsApp"

Error: Invalid argument/option - '/FC:\Program Files\ WindowsApp'.

Type "TAKEOWN /?" for usage

Then I get another error

C:\Windows\system32>C:takeown?/F"%ProgramFiles%\WindowsApp"

The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incoorect

I do not now what to do to get Nitro that I own already to work on my brand new computer.

I am not a computer programer, and am very frustrated.

I have had other programs that I currently use that just take over my computer and fix an issue

Please help me figure this out, or I will just purchase a competors programs

Hello @Kevincz,

Thank you for this information and for your patience.

To execute the command with errors, please remove 😄 and and just type this:

takeown /F "%ProgramFiles%\WindowsApps"

Once done with the first command, proceed executing the others.

Thank you very much in advance and I am looking forward to hearing back from you.
