FredN
So I was no longer able to convert a word document into a pdf document. It just gave me an error message. I am able to convert a pdf to word with no issue. I opened Word as administrator and removed the Nitro Pro add in. I ran the repair tool on Nitro Pro. I opened the PDF creator in Nitro Pro and unchecked and then rechecked word add in. There is no longer a Nitro Pro tab in word nor is there an option for me to manually add the add in when I log into Word as an administrator. I have been going round now for 2 hours and really need some help. I must be missing a step somewhere or I am not closing a program and reopening it in the proper sequence. Thank you in advance for your help.

Official Nitronaut Allain Umailin Posted September 23, 2019 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted September 23, 2019 Hello @FredN, Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums! To further assist you with your concern, there are situations where Nitro Pro add-in continues to be unloaded in either Outlook, Word, Excel, or PowerPoint even after a user enables the Add-in under the 'COM Add-ins.' section of the MS Office program. This is because if an Add-in appears under the ‘Disabled’ Add-ins, it will always overwrite the ‘Enabled’ preference at start-up. This is related to how Outlook and other applications have stored information in their registry. The steps below will correct the load issue in Word, but you can complete the same steps by selecting other registry files for either Outlook, Excel or PowerPoint. Please be aware that making changes to Registry can affect your computer's performance. 1. Exit the MS Office program (ie. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and uninstall the Nitro Pro Add-in for MS Office using the Nitro Pro Support Tools located under the Help tab. Note that if the tool is not found in Help tab, you will need to go to the installation folder of Nitro Pro and open NitroPDFSupportTools.exe: https://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/support tools/000004465 2. Re-enable the related MS Office Add-in following the steps below: a. Select Options from the File tab and Option > Add-ins. b. In the Add-ins box, identify the add-in that you want to enable or disable and note the Add-in type located in the Type column c. Select the Add-in type in the Manage box and then click Go. d. Select or clear the check box for the Add-in that you want enable or disable and then click OK. e. Now close and reopen the MS Office programs to confirm that the Nitro Pro add-in is loaded and enabled. If that's not the case, please continue to Step 3. 3. Please review this link of which provides instructions on making an adjustment to the registry and the Load Behavior of the program. Changing the setting of the Load Behavior to ‘3’ will force the Add-in to ‘Load at Startup’, as noted here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/vsto/registry-entries-for-vsto-add-ins?view=vs-2017 4. Please read this for full instructions: https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/2758876/add-ins-are-user-re-enabled-after-being-disabled-by-office-programs Thank you for choosing Nitro and I hope this helps! FredN
Thank you for the post but it does not solve the problem. Here is the issue. 1) I Disabled the Word Add In in nitro Pro Support Tools Tools (MS Word was not open when I did this) 2) I open MS Word and under Options opened Add Ins. I highlighted COM Add-Ins and hit "GO" 3) Under available Add Ins, there is no longer NItro Pro. I mistakenly removed it when I should have just disabled it. But it is not there. 4) I tried manually typing in the address C:\Program Files (x86)\common files\nitro\Pro\11\nitro.officeaddin.net.proxy.11.dll and then hit add 5) restarted computer and still no Nitro Pro tab in Word or an option to add it 6) NItro Pro is in Tabs for Outlook, and excel (haven't checked others) Any new ideas on how to get Nitro Pro to be an option to add through MS Word Add-Ins? FredN
The path I tried to use to add the Nitro Pro Add In is now no longer there?? The When I check the path in Outlook the path shown is what I typed earlier. But when I try to find that file in Word, when I get to Common Files/Nitro there is no longer a Pro folder there, only "resource". Now I am not sure what else is going on.
