Cannot Optimize & Flatten PDFs using Nitro Pro Trial Version

Hello,

I am using the TRIAL version of the Nitro Pro (13.2.6.26)  and trying to edit the following PDF form (1042S): https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1042s.pdf 

The issue is that I am not able to edit, optimize, or even flatten this PDF. It already has form fields (created through Adobe LifeCycle Designer ES 9.0) that I need to remove.

Is there any solution to this?

NOTE: Our company also has the older version, Nitro PDF Professional (6.2.1.10) , which actually is able to edit, optimize and flatten the pdfs with no issues. However we are trying to upgrade from this version as it is very outdated and may not be supported any longer.

UPDATE: It seems ANY PDF that already has form fields (that is not created with Nitro Pro), even PDFs created from the older Nitro PDF Professional (6.2.1.10), cannot be edited, optimized or saved as flattened PDF.
