Dominic78
Hi AllainU - I think I have the same issue with Nitro Pro 13 and WIN 10. When I use Adobe as standard App - no problem with the Windows Explorer preview. When I use Nitro as standard App - the preview will not show anything at my WIN Explorer Preview Window ... How can I fix it ?
Official Nitronaut Allain Umailin Posted January 14, 2020 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted January 14, 2020 Hello @Dominic78, Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums! To further troubleshoot this preview issue, kindly refer to these steps: 1. Run a repair on Nitro Pro 13. You may refer to this article: https://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/repair/000004603 2. Re-register the DLL file using the following Administrator command (Admin CMD): For 32-bit: regsvr32 -u "C:\Program Files (x86)\Nitro\Pro\13\NitroPDFPreviewHandler.dll" regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Nitro\Pro\13\NitroPDFPreviewHandler.dll" For 64-bit: regsvr32 -u "C:\Program Files\Nitro\Pro\13\NitroPDFPreviewHandler.dll" regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Nitro\Pro\13\NitroPDFPreviewHandler.dll" Thank you very much in advance and I am looking forward to hearing back from you. Chris_Chris
I am having the same issue. We upgraded to new computer with Windows 10 and I cannot preview in File Explorer or Outlook. I have Nitro Pro 10.
JimD
I am having the same problem with Pro 13 and Win 10 64-bit. The regsvr fix you have suggested to many who have experienced the same problem does not do anything. Could part of the problem be that there is no NitroPreviewHandler, dll in the installation folder? Also, I do not get the option to Modify to repair the program. Any other ideas?

JNSCAMP
Hi, I have had this problem for a very long time. I use the preview pane to constantly work with multiple PDF's at a time....need to quickly view whole folders of docs quickly. **Windows 10 64, nitro version 13.9.1.155. Sometimes it fixes by going to default file by app type and re-applying nitro to pdf files. That isn't working now. So tried your suggested repair and then admin CMD command prompts for 64 bit (both)....and still not working. Is there another fix? Thanks for your help. Official Nitronaut Allain Umailin Posted March 16, 2020 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted March 16, 2020 Hello @JNSCAMP, Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums! To further assist you, let us try some troubleshooting by referring to these steps: 1. Clear the content of the directory under C:\users\your_username\Appdata\local\temp. For whatever reason, not all temp files automatically remove themselves and is NOT usually caused by Nitro Pro files. Kindly note Appdata folder is hidden and to unhide it, please refer to this article https://cybertext.wordpress.com/2012/05/29/cant-see-the-appdata-folder/ 2. Download and run our Clean Up utility to uninstall your Nitro Pro: http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_13132242/install-cleanup/install-cleanup.zip NOTE: This clean-up tool will erase any existing signature files within Nitro so please save them to another location before using the clean-up tool in order to keep them. Please see this link for backing up custom stamps/signatures: https://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/stamps/000004307 3. Please clear all your downloads folder or delete all downloaded Nitro installers. This step is important because we noticed that if you are saving all the installers and you download them in the same folder (like the downloads folder), the EXE can pick up any MSI installer in that folder and you may pick-up one of the older builds instead of the newly downloaded package. 4. Download and install Nitro Pro 13.13 using below offline installers: x32 http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_13132242/en/retail/nitro_pro13_ba_x86.msi x64 http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_13132242/en/retail/nitro_pro13_ba_x64.msi If you are not sure which to pick, this will help: https://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/64/000003790 5. After installation, you can activate by opening Nitro Pro, clicking on the Help tab > About Nitro Pro > Activate by entering your serial number. Thank you for choosing Nitro and I hope this helps! Peter Greulich
I can't say this is causing the problem or this is "da fix," but I am finally getting the pdf viewer to work within the folders after struggling for a while. I went through the processes here as recommended and when I downloaded and installed the msi above at: x64 http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_13132242/en/retail/nitro_pro13_ba_x64.msi I noticed that one of the options on the initial installation screen was to "Install the PDF Viewer (Windows 7 only). It was checked by default. I can't say for sure, but I think when I first installed Nitro, I probably just unchecked the box thinking "I have Windows 10!" I used to be a brand manager, so I know some engineer/usability guy is thinking - Hey! that is clear isn't it? Well, if unchecking that box prevents the previewer from being installed on Windows 10 ... this silly user didn't get it the first time. ;) This time I definitely left it checked (although I kept wondering, I figured someone was smart enough to know I had Windows 10 and not WIndows 7) and the previewer is starting to work. I say starting, as I have 100's of thousands of pdfs and where I saw none before, they are starting to preview. I would believe that it will take some time to display consistently with the size of my folders and number of files. Hope this helps someone. P.S., So far, Adobe Pro will be history on my machine the next time they want me to renew my annual, non-perpetual, cloud-based-subscription-model, no-new-function-ever-added release and a "PRO" product that won't-work-without-an-internet-connection --- sheesh. Cheers, - Pete
